Squad Coaching

Focused small-group race walking sessions, where limited numbers mean every athlete gets the attention they deserve. Squads are arranged by skill and fitness level to ensure tailored coaching. Each session is tailored for each individual athlete’s ability with the group generally working on a similar goal as a whole. This creates measurable substantive progress. Whether you’re building your foundation or refining advanced form, these sessions are designed to help you move forward with confidence, speed and precision and set up athletes for the path to elite competition.

1:1 Private Sessions

Available by request for both squad members and non-squad athletes, these tailored sessions can focus on improving your technique, speed, endurance or individual goals. With dedicated one-on-one attention, you’ll receive personalised feedback and expert guidance to refine your form, build confidence, and take your race walking to the next level.

Distance/Online Coaching

Ideal for regional athletes or those who prefer to train independently, this remote coaching option provides personalised support wherever you are. Coaching is delivered via video analysis and feedback, along with custom race walking and strength and conditioning plans tailored to your fitness level and goals. Programs can be progressive to help you reach your individual goals or prepare you for upcoming competitions with confidence and structure. Programs are written on a monthly basis.

Training Plans

Tailored for self-driven athletes with solid technique, these custom race walk training plans are designed to match your goals—whether you’re building fitness or preparing to peak at the right time for an upcoming competition. Each plan is personalised, progressive, and structured to keep you focused, motivated, and moving forward. Plans can detail: warm up, drills, strength, intensity (RPE) levels, warm down, stretching and recovery and even nutrition basics if needed. Programs are written on a monthly basis.

Novice Coach Mentoring

Designed to support emerging or untrained coaches, mentoring covers all the race walk essentials: identifying and correcting technique flaws, choosing effective drills, planning sessions with short and long-term progression, prioritising athlete welfare, and understanding race opportunities. With a mentor available whenever questions arise, you’ll grow in confidence and capability—ready to make a positive impact in your local community. Mentoring is available via phone or in person at a time convenient for you. Bookings by appointment.

Athlete/Parent Mentoring

This mentoring is designed to empower parents with the knowledge and confidence to support their budding race walking child effectively. Whether you’re looking to understand technique, learn how to run a productive training session youself, navigate the competition pathway, how to handle to dissapointments, understand appropriate goal setting, sports nutrition basics or manage the balance between life, training, and recovery, this support is tailored to you. Mentoring is available via phone or in person, offering flexibility to suit your schedule. Athletes with engaged, informed parents often progress faster and further—and with greater enjoyment! Bookings by appointment.

Training Sessions

Training is held in various locations including the newly resurfaced Mondo track at Blacktown International Sportspark, Grantham Reserve Seven Hills and CV Kelly field Girraween.

Squad training days:

  • Wednesdays (Sept-April) – 4.30pm, 60-75min (open to members of Squad A & B)
  • Sunday afternoons (year round) – time changes seasonally, 2-5pm Start. 75-90min (Squad B, then Squad A – seperate sessions)
